Eastwards, between Mossel Bay and Storms River (a distance of 140 miles) lies the celebrated Garden Route, so named because of its variety of scenery with lagoons, mountains and Indian Ocean beaches. From Cape Town, travel through the Klein Karoo to Oudtshoorn where one can visit an ostrich farm. Visit the Cango Caves before departing for George and continue to the picturesque town of Knysna. From Knysna continue to Plettenberg Bay via Tsitikamma and spend a day exploring the beautiful Tsitskamma Forest including ‘Storms River Mouth’ before leaving for Port Elizabeth. There is a great deal to see and do and at least three or four days should be allowed for the drive between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth or vice-versa.
