Dominican Republic
Attracting visitors from all around the world, the Dominican Republic
holds a great diversity of scenery, which amazes all who go there. Fine
white sand, golden beaches, diving spots, hidden islands, unspoilt nature
and friendly islanders who are always willing to help await you. The island
truly provides an endless opportunity for excitement and adventure, waiting
to turn dreams into reality. With an 800 mile coastline, visitors to this
beautiful island can really relax and soak up the atmosphere of the Caribbean
lifestyle.
East Coast
Punta Cana is the jewel on the eastern side of the Dominican Republic,
with sapphire waters and endless horizons. The white sand beaches along
the eastern coast are among the most beautiful you are likely to discover.
The popular resort of Bavaro, with its string of fine resort hotels, parks
and golf courses, is just a short distance from Punta Cana.
Our Thoughts
The Dominican Republic is the Caribbean country that’s got it all. With
a tropical climate, its wide sandy beaches and coconut palms are picture
perfect but that’s only part of its appeal. Gentle manatees and frolicking
humpback whales are known to swim these waters. Santo Domingo, the first
European colonial city in the Americas, is a historical treasure trove,
while the wildlife and raw beauty of the mountainous interior is breathtaking.
Two outrageously colourful carnivals are held in late February and August.
This destination is also popular with the North American markets, who
can, at times be more boisterous than European tourists. Take US dollars,
as credit cards and travellers cheques are often useless outside the cities.
Spanish is the official language.
