Nile Cruising

The great advantage of taking a cruise on the Nile is the ease of access to the many temples that line the Nile from Luxor to Aswan. Sailing along the Nile is a relaxed and romantic means of getting from one historic site to another. The sites of Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo are dramatic and a must see during any visit to Upper Egypt. Choose from our 3 night option from Aswan to Luxor, or 4 nights Luxor Aswan. Price shown include all tours specified. Early starts are the norm to avoid the heat of the day. Schedules may be disrupted due to maintenance of the lock at Esna. This is generally carried out between 10 June to 30 June and 01 December to 16 December, however since the opening of a second lock in 2007 cruise schedules have not bee disrupted. We recommend a Nile Cruise as part of your Egypt package.

The Movenpick HS Royal Lotus

The Movenpick HS Royal Lotus is a luxury 5 star cruise boat that sails between Aswan and Luxor. The main ‘Lotus restaurant’ serves a selection of buffets that feature a different cuisine each day, or you may choose from the a la carte menu. The elegantly decorated ‘Crescent Lounge and Bar’ is located on the Saloon deck and features a semi-circular bar, panoramic window and dance area. It is also the setting for the welcome cocktail reception, galabeyya party and theme evenings. ‘The Observation Bar’ is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee and has a dedicated internet corner. Located on the sundeck the informal ‘Sundeck Bar’ serves drinks and snacks throughout the day. Onboard facilities include a sundeck with lounge chairs, plunge pool, Jacuzzi and fully equipped gym. There are 60 spacious (22 meter square) cabins each with panoramic window air-conditioning, Cable Television, GSM enabled telephone, mini refrigerator, safe and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower.

ASWAN to LUXOR

Departures: Tuesdays

DAY 1 - TUESDAY

Board HS Movenpick Royal Lotus by 11a.m. followed by Lunch on board. After lunch sail on the Nile by Felucca around kitchener Island. Dinner on board and overnight in Aswan.

DAY 2 - WEDNESDAY

Breakfast on board and sail to Kom Ombo. In the morning visit the Aswan high dam, the Temple of Philae and unfinished Obelisk. Sail to Kom Ombo with lunch on board. After lunch visit the Temple shared by the Gods Sobek and Haerois in Kom Ombo. Sail to Edfu. Afternoon tea and dinner on board. Overnight in Edfu.

DAY 3 - THURSDAY

Breakfast on board. Visit Horus temple in Edfu. Sail to Esna with lunch on board. Sail to Luxor with afternoon tea on board Dinner on board and overnight in Luxor.

DAY 4 - FRIDAY

Breakfast on board Morning visit to the West Bank - The Valley of the Kings and Queens, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El-Deir. Return to HS Movenpick Royal Lotus for lunch. After lunch visit Karnak and Luxor Temples on the East bank. Afternoon tea and dinner on board. Overnight in Luxor.

DAY 5 - SATURDAY

Breakfast on board. Check - out at 08.00 after breakfast.

Board HS Movenpick Royal Lotus by 11 a.m. followed by lunch on board. After lunch visit the East Bank (Karnak and Luxor temples). Dinner on board and overnight in Luxor.

DAY 2 - SUNDAY

Breakfast on board. Morning visit to the West Bank - The valley of the Kings and Queens, the temple of queen Hatshetpsut at El-Dier, Al Bahari Sail to Esna with lunch on board. Afternoon tea and dinner on board and Overnight in Edfu.

DAY 3 - MONDAY
