Hong Kong
A world apart, Hong Kong is often referred to as the New York of Asia.
Enjoying status as a special Administrative Region of China, Asia’s most
popular destination has retained its appeal, boasting some of the world’s
best hotels, fabulous shopping, renowned Chinese and international cuisine
and spectacular harbour views. Beaches, mountain ranges and paddy fields
are no more than an hour from this skyscraper-filled cityscape. A mile
across the harbour is Kowloon with its own fair share of shops and skyscrapers.
To experience old China, visit the Jade market and haggle with dealers
and collectors for the prized stone, or visit the outlying islands where
life in the fishing villages has been virtually untouched by modern times
- Hong Kong has a wealth of contrasts waiting to be explored. Few places
match this ‘City of Life’ for its food, shopping, pace and excitement!
Our Thoughts
Hong Kong continues to be one of the most popular destinations in the
Far East with its unique mixture of old and new. It is well worth taking
the time to visit Lantau Island or the New Territories to get a taste
of the ‘real’ Hong Kong. Demand for hotels and flight seats is high during
Chinese New Year, so book early to avoid disappointment. Note: Harbourview
rooms are available at most of our featured hotels in Hong Kong at a supplement.
