Turtle Island Adventure

Departures: Daily from Kota Kinabalu.
(Minimum 2 Persons travelling together).

DAY 1 - KOTA KINABALU / SANDAKAN BY BOAT / TURTLE ISLAND

Early morning, transfer to Kota Kinabalu airport for your flight to Sandakan, the former capital of Sabah. On arrival, transfer to jetty for a 60 minute boat ride to Selingan Turtle Islands Park. Upon arrival, check in at Turtle Island Parks HQ and enjoy lunch at the cafe. Afternoon at leisure to swim or snorkel. Enjoy dinner this evening and afterwards experience the turtles laying eggs and if there are young hatchlings, the opportunity to observe the release of baby turtles to the open sea. Overnight at Chalet (shared facilities).

DAY 2 - TURTLE ISLAND / SEPILOK / SANDAKAN / KOTA KINABALU

After breakfast, depart Turtle Island by boat down river to Sandakan. Proceed in an air-conditioned vehicle to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Observe man’s closest relative being rehabilitated back into their natural habitat. Witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at the feeding platform and experience a walk in the tropical lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Afternoon, take a journey uphill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, offering a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay. After lunch, drive past the Agnes Keith Museum. Return to Sandakan airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Note: No flash photography or video cameras are allowed at the turtle sanctuary.
