Cocoa Island, known locally as Makunufushi, is the epitome of barefoot chic, yet sophisticated in its luxury. Located in the less developed South Male Atoll, Cocoa Island lies just 40-minutes by speedboat from Male International airport. The Kandooma Channel lies on the west side of the island, and it is considered to be one of the best dive sites in the Maldives; whilst a quiet reef for snorkelling lies to the east. Dine feet-in-the-sand and beneath the stars at the main restaurant ‘Ufaa’, serving a delicious blend of Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, where the emphasis is on locally caught seafood.
