Mauritius
Mauritius, just inside the Tropic of Capricorn, some 1,200 miles off
the coast of Africa, lies the beautiful island of Mauritius. Moonscaped
mountains dominate the island’s interior, surrounded by wild gorges, sweeping
fields of green sugar cane and casuarina fringed coves. A rich and varied
landscape together with a fascinating blend of peoples from Europe, Africa,
India and the Far East combine to make Mauritius a unique cosmopolitan
island culture. The white beaches offer a superb choice of watersports
and some of the world’s finest game fishing can be found beyond the protection
of the reef.

Our Thoughts
Entertainment seems to be centred round the hotels and whilst there are
local bars and restaurants, particularly round the Grand Baie area, there
is little nightlife outside the hotels and resorts. The capital Port Louis,
is the main shopping area with a colourful local market. The cultural
mix of Mauritians has a strong influence on the island and is reflected
in the many cuisines and warm hospitality.
Transfers
Journey times from the airport to Mauritian hotels are subject to prevailing
traffic conditions. Approximate transfer times are shown in the individual
hotel description text.
All Inclusive
"NO WORRIES, NO FUSS AND NO BIG HOTEL BILLS AT THE END OF YOUR HOLIDAY!"
Some of our hotels offer a choice of ‘all-inclusive’ options. All-inclusive
means that almost everything is included in the holiday price and can
be a great help in managing your holiday budget. Details of inclusions
vary slightly between hotels (see individual hotel descriptions for specific
details). All food and drinks are generally available from selected menus
at specific bars and restaurants in the hotels and resorts. Most hotels
charge supplements for á la carte dining and premium brand drinks.
