Peru
Peru has always seemed like a quest, a discovery for travellers. Once
the centre of the worlds largest empire, ruled by the legendary Inca,
it became the land of Eldorado as Spanish adventurers crossed the high
Andes chasing rumours of gold. In our age, archaeologists have followed
the same routes in search of lost cities, half-buried fortresses and tombs
of mummies. In Peru, all the drama of South America seems to be contained
in one country. Machu Picchu and the ancient Inca civilisation, Lake Titicaca
and the mysterious jungles of Iquitos are just some of the magical sights
which await the visitor to Peru. Peru is now yours to discover!

Our Thoughts
Peru, where the main language is Spanish, can be visited all year round.
The jungle is consistently hot, humid and rainy. A flexible attitude is
required when travelling in less developed areas. Minor problems can occur
and it is important to recognise that guides, drivers and other local
staff are not as experienced in tourism as those in more developed countries.
Often the journey to see Peru’s ancient monuments and unique natural features
can be long, tiring and strenuous, as you will be more than 2 miles above
sea level at times. A healthy constitution and an adaptable state of mind
are recommended for this fantastic tour.
