Thornybush Game Reserve is adjacent to Kruger National Park and lies in 28,000 acres of pristine African bushveld. Thornybush is home to six exclusive lodges namely n’Kaya Lodge, Serondella Lodge, Shumbala Game Lodge, Thornybush Game Lodge, Simbambili Lodge and the one we feature, Chapungu Luxury Tented Camp, where sublime cuisine and superb hospitality are only surpassed by close and frequent encounters with Africa’s wildlife, including the ‘Big Five’. Overlooking the magnificent bushveld, Chapungu facilities include a curio shop, rock pool, an elevated viewing deck at the lodge water hole, boma (restaurant), bar and thatched dining area. All 8 luxury en-suite tents are air-conditioned sleeping up to 2 adults, with tea and coffee facilities, terrace, overhead fan and bath/shower. Note: Chapungu is not open to children under 12 years.

How to get there

Thornybush Game Reserve is about 30 minutes drive from Eastgate (Hoedspruit) airport and approximately 6 hours drive from Johannesburg airport. Private transfers can be arranged from Eastgate airport to and from Thornybush. The return cost is approximately €53 per person.
