A Hunter Hotels property and member of Relais & Châteaux, Tsala Treetop Lodge is situated about 20 minutes drive from Knysna and 60 minutes from George airport, and sits six metres high above the ground in the treetops of the Garden Route′s Tsitsikamma Forest. Inspired by ancient African ruins, the majestic stonemasonry of the entrance gives way to an extravagant structure of timber and glass looking down on age-old trees and out across rolling hills and valleys. Facilities include a library, cosy lounge and dining room serving imaginative cuisine that reflects the unique blend of cultures found in South Africa. All 10 luxurious Hide-Away Suites, accessed by meandering elevated walkways, have a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom with outdoor shower and private infinity pool elevated on pole supports, their ‘negative edge’ flowing over into the forest canopy. Delicious meals are also served on large suspended decks. NOTE: Tsala Treetop Lodge is not open to children 10 years and under.
