DESTINATIONS

Famed as ‘The playground of the Orient’, from watersports to nightspots, whatever you have heard about Pattaya is probably true! The sleepy fishing port of 40 years ago beckoned tourists to its glorious crescent bay, little knowing that they would turn up in their thousands. It’s busy beach boasts a wealth of watersports from scuba diving, to skilled water-skiing. It’s here that you will find the go-go bars, risque cabarets and night long discos. Position yourself on the headlands at either end of the bay and you can ignore the frenetic centre in favour of gentler pursuits. There are orchid nurseries, Buddhist temples, folklore fiestas and even an elephant kraal. You can play golf at many world class courses, go horse riding, or sail to an offshore island. In Pattaya, the pleasure is all yours.
Brash, boisterous and not to everyone’s liking, Pattaya is a mecca for adults seeking fun and exciting entertainment. It does have more than its fair share of girlie bars, so if you prefer to keep it all at arms length then choose one of the Twohig’s hotels in any of the other Thailand resorts. A major government clean-up campaign has seen the beach cleaned up and is now perfect for swimming. Off-shore islands, hotel grounds and pools are excellent and remain a pleasant and relaxing alternative in the midst of Pattaya’s activity.
Journey to Pattaya is by road with private car transfer from Bangkok which takes approximately 2 hours subject to prevailing traffic conditions.
